On the morning of Friday, November 6th, my husband and I came down to the garage to find that his bike was stolen from the bike wall. Obviously we know that there has been thefts in the garage before, so we took extra precautions by securing the bike with 2 cables and 2 U locks. While we do realize that this was an experienced bike thief that cut the locks and stole the bike, the fact that there is a giant hole in the garage door and the back door into the garage does not latch anymore, made it extremely easy to access the bike. We have reached out to the HOA to provide us the footage from the security cameras and we have yet to hear back from them. This has to STOP! Our safety and security is continually compromised. We pay several hundred dollars a month to our HOA to ensure that we feel safe in our building and this is NOT happening. How many more thefts and break-ins need to happen in order for these items to be fixed?!

Our car was broken into as well. They shattered the back window and stole a backpack that was hidden. Thankfully that was all but they only had a small window of opportunity from 9 PM to 11:30 PM and my parking spot is in front of the stairs and next to the elevator. I have requested video multiple times and have not heard back. I understand there may be nothing that can be done but I would at least like to see a video of the break in. How are we supposed to feel safe when at any point someone could catch a thief in the act. Lord knows what would happen
Our car was also broken into between Nov. 7th and 10th. Not sure what day since we hadn't been out since the 7th. Hope something is being done to rectify this. It appears that they just went through the glove compartment and console but doesn't seem to be anything missing.
In addition to my husband's bike being stolen a few days ago, my car was broken into last night. Nothing was stolen because I didn't have anything of value (that they wanted) other than a car seat and stroller. They went through my middle console and glove box. As a community we need to raise awareness but more importantly the HOA has to stop being negligent and do something about our safety and security!
